We are hiring a hands-on Warehouse / Shop Technician to set up and run our Houston shop. This person will build out the shop from the ground up, manage shipping and receiving of bearing housings and FK pump parts, and perform millwright work including teardown, inspection and rebuild of bearing housings.
The role works closely with our Baton Rouge shop and sales teams, and with vendors and outsourcing partners. It suits someone who is organized, safety-minded, mechanically skilled and comfortable working independently.

Key responsibilities
- Set up, install and prepare shop equipment, including the lathe, work tables, drill press, hot water pressure washer, parts washer, sand blaster and air compressor
- Install and label racking and shelving throughout the warehouse
- Set up office equipment for the shop
- Organize the shop layout to efficiently receive, store and process parts and equipment
- Ship and receive bearing housings and FK pump parts
- Sort and store incoming parts orders by job
- Pack, palletize and strap down shipments securely
- Prepare and file shipping and receiving documentation
- Tear down and inspect bearing housings; document findings and prepare inspection reports
- Rebuild bearing housings to OEM / IMR specifications
- Document repair work and shop procedures
- Learn and support blower rebuilds and repairs
- Coordinate daily with the Baton Rouge shop and sales teams on jobs, parts and schedules
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers and outsourcing partners
- Keep job records current in Salesforce (SF) and by email
- Deliver and pick up equipment across the Houston region
- Oversee and carry out shop safety procedures
- Keep work areas, equipment and tools in safe working condition
Required skills and qualifications
- Warehouse experience, including shipping and receiving
- Forklift certified
- Packing, palletizing and strapping loads down on pallets
- Completing shipping and receiving documentation and paperwork accurately
- Basic Microsoft Office, email and Salesforce (SF) documentation
- Painting equipment
- Using basic shop and hand tools
- Operating and maintaining a hot water pressure washer, lathe, paint equipment, parts washer and sand blaster
- Using a welding machine and cutting torch
- Tearing down and inspecting bearing housings, with written documentation and reports
- Rebuilding bearing housings to OEM / IMR specifications
- Willingness to learn blower rebuilds and repairs
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, for regional deliveries and pickups
- Able to work independently and keep a shop organized
- Clear written and verbal communication with internal teams and outside vendors
- Experience with rotating equipment, pumps or bearing housings in an industrial shop
- Welding or millwright certification
- Experience setting up a new shop or warehouse
- Shop and warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat and cleaning chemicals
- Regular lifting of heavy parts and equipment; forklift and pallet jack use
- Use of required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and steel-toe boots
- Local driving throughout the Houston region
- Schedule is 9/80 (Monday - Thursday: 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Friday: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM with every other Friday off)
- Full time: 40 hours/week
